NV Emmanuel Brochet Selected Millesime

$215.00

The Emmanuel Brochet “Selected” Millésime is a remarkable Champagne that reflects both the precision and passion of one of the most thoughtful grower-producers in the Montagne de Reims. Emmanuel Brochet farms just 2.5 hectares of organically cultivated vines in a single, contiguous parcel in Villers-aux-Noeuds, a village located just south of Reims. His vines, some dating back to 1962, thrive in chalky, clay-limestone soils that yield wines of purity and depth.

The “Selected” Millésime cuvée is crafted from a careful blend of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, typically around 70% Meunier and 30% Chardonnay. It combines a base vintage with a portion of reserve wines, highlighting both the character of the harvest and the continuity of the estate’s style. Fermentation and ageing take place partly in oak barrels, which lend texture and subtle spice without overshadowing the wine’s natural energy. After extended lees ageing, the Champagne is disgorged with a very low dosage (around 3 g/L), preserving its freshness and sense of terroir.

On the nose, the wine opens with ripe orchard fruit, citrus zest, and hints of red berries, followed by layers of brioche, toasted almond, and delicate spice from the oak. The palate is finely balanced—vibrant yet creamy, showing both the generosity of Meunier and the tension of Chardonnay. A refined bead and long, mineral finish make it both immediately enjoyable and capable of graceful ageing.

Production is extremely limited, with only a few thousand bottles released each year, making this cuvée a coveted find among Champagne enthusiasts. Emmanuel Brochet’s “Selected” Millésime is a brilliant expression of modern artisanal Champagne—precise, soulful, and unmistakably true to its origin.
