2022 Bendito Destino Albillo Mayor Baños El Arenal

94 points from Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

93 points from Mike Bennie, The Wine Front

Bendito Destino cultivates a rare plot of 100+ year-old goblet-trained Albillo vines in Baños de Valdearados, owned by three young brothers. In 2022, they produced just two barrels of Albillo, a wine with exceptional density, vibrant acidity, and a low pH of 3.12, offering elegance and character. Planted in 1910, the single-vineyard Albillo thrives in pure limestone soil at 920 meters altitude, with an east-facing orientation. Spanning only 0.3 hectares, this vineyard is truly special. Frosts in 2023 and 2024 prevented further production, making the 2022 vintage even more treasured.

2021 Bendito Destino Fuentecebolla

95 points from Jamie Goode

Dept and elegance, dark berry aromas, black cherry, blackberry with hints of wild herbs, and subtle floral notes. The tannins are rather supple but round. The co-fermentation of red and white grapes adds a lovely lift with a long, lingering finish.

Blend of 80% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha, and 10% white grapes, sourced from a historic vineyard planted in 1920. Nestled in a northeast-facing valley with sandy clay soils, the wine is aged in two new 500L François Frères Rare barrels. The hand-stemmed grapes, with 35% stems included, contribute to its complex character. With a plot size of just 0.31 hectares.

2022 Bendito Destino Navazal Clarete

94 points from Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate

This Clarete comes from a vineyard owned by Secundino, a 92-year-old legend in Canalejas de Peñafiel who has shared his wisdom and knowledge of traditional winemaking. Crafted as a tribute to him and the historic Clarete style of Ribera del Duero, the wine balances density, power, and elegance. A blend of Albillo, Tempranillo, Alarije, and Bobal, it underwent full malolactic fermentation and aged for two years in a used 500-liter barrel, capturing the essence of a bygone era. This is the winery’s finest Clarete yet, honoring both tradition and history.
