Domaine Ganevat’s Poulsard Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes comes from the village of Rotalier, specifically the renowned Les Chalasses vineyard, where century-old vines are deeply rooted in southeast-facing clay and marl soils. Aged in demi-muids, bottled unfiltered, and crafted without the addition of sulphites, the wine reflects the estate’s non-interventionist philosophy and the distinctive character of the Jura terroir, delivering remarkable purity of fruit expression.
According to Philippe Mischler, sommelier at Mundovin, Jean-François Ganevat’s Poulsard Les Chalasses Vieilles Vignes is a true expression of its grey marl terroir. Above all, it is a wine of place, showcasing a level of purity and finesse unique to the Jura region.
The nose opens with complex aromas of tart red berries, gradually revealing layers of spice and subtle cocoa notes as the wine breathes.
On the palate, its supple and elegant texture captivates with a delicate mouthfeel and beautifully integrated tannins. Flavours of wild berries intertwine seamlessly with nuances of cocoa and noble spices, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish marked by freshness and precision.
