San Roque 2023 – named after the saint patron of Peñafiel, where this single vineyard is planted. At around 760m altitude, and predominantly Tinto Fino and Garnacha, it has a very elegant perfume on the nose, and a savoury long finish enhanced by the 40% whole bunch fermentation in an open barrel. Punch downs were done by hand to preserve the whole berry (twice a day), and after pressing the wine spent 16 months in a third fill 300L Hermitage barrel. 389 bottles made. 94 points
