2023 Domaine Hubert Lamy Bourgogne Blanc Les Chataigners

$195.00

Lamy farms four small parcels on the white limestone soils of Les Chataigners, a vineyard tucked up at the far end of the village. This is Lamy’s highest, coolest climat, and the vines were planted in 1990 and 2008. Perennially one of the Côte’s most impressive Bourgogne-level whites, the 2023 lives up to this reputation. It is worth noting that in most years this wine includes plenty of declassified fruit from higher appellations. This is a blinder of a release: racy, linear, yet with excellent generosity and length.

The 2023 Bourgogne Les Chataigners comes from chalkier soils. This has a delectable bouquet with bright scents of green apple and light orange pith aromas. The palate is well balanced with plenty of solids even for a regional white, insistent grip on the finish with admirable minerality. 87 points

Bill Nanson, The Burgundy Report

An airy first impression, but there’s density here vs the 24s. Large in the mouth, a velour texture – lots of depth and an impression of dry extract.
