“La Reine” comes from old, massale-selection vines planted in 1947, sitting at 260m altitude on north-facing slopes. The roots dig deep into red calcareous clay soils, giving the wine both structure and mineral drive.
Fermented with native yeasts in barrique and aged in the same vessels for 18 months with gentle bâtonnage, it’s a wine of both power and detail. There’s a fine thread of reduction, layered with soft, leesy texture, while flavours move through green apple, lemon pith, and a subtle saline edge. The acidity is bright and persistent, carrying through a structured frame to a long, mineral finish.
