Les Cras is a limestone-rich, rocky Premier Cru that gives a more mineral, taut and structured expression of Chambolle-Musigny, combining the appellation’s perfume and finesse with a little more grip and depth.

The 2008 Les Cras is really deep and sappy in this vintage and will make a really lovely bottle in about seven or eight years. The superb bouquet hops from the glass in a blaze of red and black cherries, smoke, complex minerality, bitter chocolate and a gentle topnote of violets. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and sappy at the core, with ripe tannins, bright acids and excellent focus and grip on the very long and refined finish. 93points
