The 2013 Fixin Vieilles Vignes is a blend of two parcels on the limit with Brochon and raised in 20% new oak. The bouquet is not a million miles away from the Marsannay with that fresh mint notes infusing the dark cherry and cassis fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with redder fruit than the Marsannay, although it does not quite deliver the same structure and freshness toward the finish. Arnaud has a soft spot for his Fixin as he likes the structure. I know where he is coming from (although I had already “eloped” with his Marsannay). 88-90 points
