NV Jérôme Blin Champagne La Haute Cirrière Blanc de Noirs

$175.00

A blend of Meunier and Pinot Noir from the Vincelles terroir in the Marne Valley. The fruit comes from two sandy parcels: La Cirrière (0.22 ha of Meunier) and Les Épinons (0.30 ha of Pinot Noir). The soils are composed of Eocene sand, typical of this part of the valley, with south and southwest exposure. The vines average 55 years of age and are farmed according to organic cultivation methods. Harvesting is done manually.

Vinification takes place partly in 228-litre oak barrels and partly in stainless steel tanks. The wine undergoes natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts, without malolactic fermentation, and is filtered but not fined. Bottled in March 2020, it was aged 46 months on lees before disgorgement in January 2024. The dosage is Extra Brut.

In the glass, the wine shows a pale golden colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose combines citrus and white fruit notes with subtle floral and toasted nuances. The palate is structured and precise, balancing the tension of sandy soils with the depth of old vines. The absence of malolactic fermentation preserves freshness and energy, leading to a long, mineral finish.
