Giovanni Canonica is a hidden legend in the town of Barolo. For many years, Giovanni only produced from 1.5 hectares of vines in the Paiagallo vineyard directly on the hill above the village of Barolo. In the early 2010s, Giovanni inherited a small amount of vines in the sector of Grinzane Cavour, and the vines that produce the Barolo there are over 50 years old. Canonica is known on the more traditional end of the Piemonte spectrum. 94 points
